Millenium rainbowfish - G. cf 6 pack

$38.00

The great explorer, Heiko Bleher has gone all over the world, risking life and limb, not to mention bouts with several types of malaria to bring back the most amazing fishes, especially the brilliant rainbowfishes. These fish come from a very special lake, Lake Ifaten, that he has been seeking for years. He would see the crater lake as the plane would fly over yet he couldn't even find a native who knew where it was. A lake that was totally unknown to the world! In Jan 2001 (the start of the real millennium) he finally made it and discovered this gem. The millennium rainbow, Glossolepis pseudoincisus is different than it's bigger cousin from Lake Sentani, Glossolepis incisus. These fish get red at three months of age. Heiko says, "The color in these fish is MUCH brighter than G. incisus, and it's smaller and less high-bodied.... the most stunning blood-red fish I had ever seen!" We think that Heiko made one of the most remarkable discoveries in the Rainbowfish World last century when he brought out the Neon rainbowfish, Melanotaenia praecox. Now you have a chance to own his latest discovery of the new millennium! Read about Heiko's adventures in catching these fish in the February 2002 issue of TFH, with further pictures in the March issue. Really check out the fish in the March issue too. We are the exclusive importers of these fish so you won't be seeing many of them at your LFS for a while.
