The fish will dig but will not disturb

The Firemouth is
awesome, it's wicked when they flair their gills. Males usually have darker
colours and a bit plumper. They have big mouths and love picking up the
substrate. A suitable environment with lots of hiding places and flat rocks
will make your Firemouths prolific spawners. They will also go alright in
community tank with barbs, loaches and large catfish. Matthew, Australia |
This fish requires a lot of space and its sex can easily be determined. The
female does not have pointed fins and the male does. These fish can be
territorial! you would need a large aquarium of around 55 gallons and up.
