Social Behaviour Territorial during breeding.
Remarks Like most Brycinus sp. this african tetra is predatory, eagerly consuming fish and insects. If the fish is too big, then it will bite it into pieces. If the other fish is far too big to be considered food, it may nip at it's fins or pick at it's scales.
