A number of hiding places like coconut shells,
bamboo pipes, pieces of wood or even sufficiently large stones is necessary. It
can eat almost everything though in captivity preferred diet is that of
bloodworms. In nature in mainly feeds on algae and insects. In captivity
enforced stream of well oxygenated water would be very highly
recommended. |

This species is also a
member of the Sinibotia subgenus. Often found in the province of Szechuan in
China. It is an active species only during feeding time and at night. It is
aggressive when protecting its territory from intruders. It is often confused
