Origin		Peru.
Social Behaviour		Occasionally territorial but generally peaceful fish. Keep one male with three females. The females select small territories with the male commanding all.
Remarks		An aquarium with a dark substrate and dense vegetation brings out the colours. Also provide refuges in the form of rocks and wood. Sometimes erroneously known as Apistogramma amoena.
