| Social Behaviour |
Aggressive in a small shoal. Peaceful in groups of
8 or more, or if kept as single specimens in a community tank. |
| Remarks |
Likes good tank circulation with plenty of
current. Keep in a well planted tank with lots of algae or feed vegetable
foods. The fish may nip at plant leaves and prefer a vegetable diet but
bloodworms, and daphnia are also relished. The tank
should be furnished with layers of rocks. In the wild the fish feed from algae
growing on the under side of ledges on near vertical slopes. this could explain
its up turned mouth. |
