Origin		Atlantic to the Urals.
Social Behaviour		Peaceful, shoaling fish.
Remarks		Coldwater fish. Sometimes found in brackish waters (Baltic Sea). Requires a large aquarium with surroundings of dense plants but with some open space in which to shoal. Adult size may limit home aquarium upkeep.
